Tri Valley Santo Niño Prayer Group
Mission Statement:
Our goal is to evangelize and unite the Filipino community by upholding our culture and heritage; sustain and deepen the faith and devotion to Santo Niño (Holy Infant Jesus) of every family we serve throughout the Tri-Valley area and neighboring cities.
By Laws:
I. To uphold the teachings of the Catholic church
II. To Honor Mary, the holy mother of child Jesus (Santo Niño)
III. To encourage the spiritual growth, commitment and increasing devotees to our Beloved Santo Niño.
IV. To practice our Catholic faith through our weekly Friday rosary, novena and supporting one another spiritually, physically and emotionally.
Specific Guidelines of the Prayer Group:
Name: The prayer group/organization shall be known and called as Tri-Valley Santo Niño Prayer Group.
Time: The Tri Valley Santo Niño prayer group meets every Friday at 7:00 pm; Novena and Rosary shall commence at 7:30 pm or earlier as requested by the Host Family (no earlier than 7:00 pm).
Venue: Host Family residence
2nd Friday of the month novena is reserve for St. Raymond Church (Chapel) in Dublin, CA
Announcements: Conduct after the prayer service
Administrative Arm composed of:
I. Coordinators: Lead coordinator shall be responsible for the day-to-day activities and weekly scheduling of the prayer group, preside over meetings, coordinate the various ministries that the prayer group have been invited to participate and ensure effective flow of communication between the prayer group members and any outside group.
II. Coordinators: Designated members shall assist and support lead coordinator for various activities and
decision-making.
III. Coordinator/Treasurer: All collected monetary annual donations of the prayer group shall be validated and accounted for by the designated treasurer with all coordinators’ approval. The funds must be used for the annual Santo Niño feast celebration every January primarily funded by the membership’s annual voluntary donation in December. Designated treasurer shall keep all donated funds in the bank with an account under the name of the prayer group on which two coordinators are signatories and detailed statement of all expenses and balances are to be disclosed to all members for review and transparency.
IV. The group ensures that no weekly monetary collection is ever taken and received from members.
General Guidelines
I. Registration thru www.trivalleystonino.org is open to any prospective candidate who desires to join the prayer group to worship and serve the Lord. No registration fee is required.
II. Membership shall include regular attendance if time allows, with active participation of the members in the Friday scheduled rosary and novena.
III. Weekly reminders to all members of the next host family schedule to receive the Santo Niño are posted via email and published on the website.
IV. Coordinators’ meetings shall be announced via website and email if the need arises.
V. Annual fiesta coordinators’ meetings are mandatory to discuss preparation of the Santo Niño feast and designation of duties. Post mandatory coordinators’ meeting is held to discuss past event for recommendations and improvements.
VI. Annual fiesta shall take place the 2nd Saturday of January. The fiesta consists of novena, mass and celebration thereafter.
VII. No Buying, selling or any solicitations whatsoever at the prayer meetings.
VIII. The Spiritual Director who shall be a priest of the Roman Catholic Church – acts on advisory/counseling capacity.
IX. Invitations to other religious and social events would be an individual basis but announcement of the events will be done at the end of the prayer meeting or via our website.
X. Scheduled novena on the 2nd Friday of the month is held at St Raymond Catholic chapel at 7:30 in Dublin CA where the statue of the Holy Infant Jesus is enthroned.
These bylaws shall be reviewed/amended in part or as a whole subject to the approval of the coordinators of the Tri Valley Santo Niño Prayer Group when the need arises.
